Subscription and Billing
Dekko offers a simple freemium model: start for free, then upgrade to the Starter plan to unlock all features.

Free plan
The free plan lets you discover Dekko with no commitment:
- 1 carbon assessment per year.
- Manual entry only (no OCR).
- Basic results (total per scope, badge).
- No PDF report, no AI recommendations.
- 1 user, 1 site.
The free plan is enough for a first try
If you simply want to know how much your company emits without generating an official report, the free plan is sufficient. You can upgrade later without losing your data.
Starter plan
The Starter plan unlocks all Dekko features:
- Unlimited assessments (annual and quarterly).
- Invoice import with automatic OCR.
- Customizable PDF reports.
- Personalized AI recommendations.
- Unlimited users and sites.
- Carbon badge with public link.
- Monthly credits included for OCR, reports, and AI.

Two billing options:

Recommendation
For an annual assessment, the annual plan is more cost-effective. You pay for the equivalent of 10 months and have access all year to prepare, verify, and complete your assessment at your own pace.
Credit system
Advanced features consume credits:

The Starter plan includes monthly credits. If you need more, additional credit packs are available for purchase from Settings > Billing.
What happens when limits are reached?
Dekko never blocks access to your existing data:
- Free plan — assessment limit — You can't create a new assessment, but your existing assessments remain accessible. A banner suggests upgrading to the Starter plan.
- Credits exhausted — OCR, report, and AI features are disabled. Manual entry remains available. You can purchase additional credits or wait for the monthly renewal.
Plan your credits
A typical assessment uses about 15–20 credits (10 OCR invoices + 1 report + 1 AI recommendation). Check your balance before starting a new assessment from Settings > Billing.
Manage your subscription
Subscription management is done through the secure Stripe portal, accessible from Settings > Billing > Manage subscription. You can:
- View and download your invoices.
- Update your payment method.
- Switch from monthly to annual (or vice versa) at the next billing date.
- Cancel your subscription.
Cancellation and grace period
If you cancel your Starter subscription:
- Your subscription remains active until the end of the paid period (end of month or end of year).
- After expiration, your account reverts to the free plan.
- All your data is preserved — assessments, emissions, generated reports.
- You can no longer use OCR, generate reports, or request AI recommendations.
- You can resubscribe at any time to regain full access.
Your data belongs to you
Even without a subscription, your data remains accessible in read-only mode. Dekko never deletes an active user's data. You can export your assessments at any time.
