Scope 2 (Purchased Energy)

Scope 2 covers indirect emissions from the production of purchased energy consumed by the organization. This mainly includes electricity, but also purchased steam, district heating, and cooling. In France, the electricity emission factor is relatively low (0.052 kg CO2e/kWh) due to nuclear power.
